Minutes of the DMTF Board Meeting

March 6, 2003, DMTV Studios

In Attendance: Connie Anderson, Pete Glaser, Nicole Holliday, and Herb Turner
Special Guests:
  Marty Peters– Rotary Club

Minutes approved from last meeting (2/6/03)

Finance Pete presented the finances.  Nothing out of the ordinary to report.  Joanne and Pete reinvested our savings in CDs with Hawthorne (formerly First Fidelity).

Grant Status – Funds were approved for:

Ingrid Hoffmeister - $1K for Del Mar Life – four shows.

Robert Baumgart and Peter Kaye  - $400 for a pilot show.  He will moderate a program that will tackle community controversies.  First show will feature the train-track issue.

Philippe Lamoise  - $500 for Rotary in Action - two shows:  “Christmas in April” is a local community service project – Rotarians do maintenance and paint homes for elderly and underprivileged people.  “1000 Smiles” is the second show where doctors will fix cleft lips and palates for children in Ensanada, MX.  Note:  The board approved the grant and later in the meeting Marty Peters came by to answer any questions regarding the project.

Home Town Awards Three shows were submitted:  A Walk in the Park, End of Summer Picnic & Studio Production Training Class – Is There A Santa Claus?.

Subcommittees
Pete formalized two subcommittees.
Finance:  Joanne, Jack and Pete
Programming:  Nicole, Ingrid and Joanne.

Programming Nicole reported on the meeting the Programming Committee had on 2/18 with Charlie.  To summarize, the station cannot handle any more programming because of the current antiquated programming system.  It’s too labor intensive to handle more programs.  There is a system available (computer program) that costs approximately $8K.  There’s a CTAC meeting scheduled on 3/12  - Jim Hancock is going to demonstrate the software.  Next steps TBD.

Fund Raising It was decided that there’s not enough time during our monthly board meeting to adequately discuss (at this stage) the “Annual Fund Raising” campaign.  There is a meeting scheduled on 3/18 at 4:30pm at Nicole’s house to discuss next steps.

Next Board Meeting is scheduled for April 3 at 8:30am
