6. Fund Raising

We would like to get new people involved in fundraising activities, some potential candidates are;

Jack Balzer former Captain of the Nimetz, (Pete to contact)

Bob and Darcy Bigham (Ingrid to contact)

Karen Langman and her husband.( Ingrid to contact)

We have one opening on the Board that probably should be filled by someone who can help on fundraising

An important aspect of fundraising is that we get some sponsors to provide upfront funding.

This is not easy to do, and the lack of sponsors this year was the main reason we had a smaller profit on Monte Carlo.

New ideas for fundraisers; (ideas with "TV connection")

Game show, Award Ceremony, Movie night, Cooking show, Tape your "Legacy"

Legacy was considered best idea, comments;

IH/NH Great idea!

NH Set guidelines, pursue this, they get something for the donation.

GS It will allow us to train producers.

NH Nothing to lose by offering it, advertise locally. They would be getting a tax benefit from it.

PL I’m not to sure we will add value, people can do this at home.

GS We offer a tax benefit, and support the local community TV

GS We could ask for volunteer producers for the videos.

PG It’s worth trying, we need to do a Prototype, need budget, Ed to put this together.

Other ideas:

1. Charge for membership? to DMTF.

2. Another Monte Carlo night, 100 people, sit down dinner, music, entertainment?

Fundraising discussion continued until next time.

There was a short discussion on adding "Streaming Video" to the DMTF website.

Board approved expenditure for Philippe L. get capability for 5-6 DMTF programs on the website. Programs to be selected at the next meeting.

Meeting adjourned at 10:30 am

Next meeting Thursday, October 3 at 9am at DMTV
