of the DMTF Board Meeting
August 1, 2002, DMTV Studios
Attendees: Peter Glaser, Walt Beerle, Nicole Holliday, Susan Switzer, Herb Turner,
Joe Hoefgen, Ned Augustenberg, Garry Shirts
Non attendees: Phillipe Lamoise
Time: 9am-10.30am
Approval of minutes - July 10, 2002 - All approved
FINANCE: Walt Beerle
Walt has agreed to stay on temporarily and continue doing the financials until a new Treasurer is elected(before yearend)

REVISION OF BUDGET - P.GLASER
Everyone received copies of the Operating Budget sheets
Most columns have changed: changes are in bold type
Major Changes:
1. 2001 Grants awarded but not paid until 2002 and were not put in budget
2. Significant profit from last year that was not rolled over
3. Additional Grant awards from the County
4. Reduced funds from Fundraisers
Additional funds for the revised budget will come from 2001 unassigned funds
New budget provides for surplus of $4,600
Budget is for calendar year 2002
Herb - can money be put into endowment? - PG says yes
Move to adopt Budget: All approved
GRANT STATUS
Community projects/Non Community projects -
$12,000 available for individual community producers
Paid out $7,700 of 12,000
Total $22,000 in Grant funds
DMTV committed $17,000 and we still have $5000 to give out
1. Community Projects
Nicole: Wrightland, not doing anything on this yet -plan for it at end of year
PG: Circus Soliel - being edited
Del Mar Artist - looking for other people to do segments
Funds still available to Paul Martin for education (TPHS)
2. Non Community Projects
Leadership program -. $1000 from Rotary to cover additional cost
Phillipe will submit another grant request in September.

DMTF will not covering Powerhouse lecture events,
DMTF will cover all of next years Powerhouse music events
ED: currently editing: 'Fire Dept' - To air in September
' Payasada Horses' - To air this month
There is money aside for - End of summer concert
- Wrightland
Discussed Election coming up - Candidate closing August 9
Ned - Adelphia not covering election
Ned - suggested station to set deadline for committing to cover forum
Ned can support manpower for debate, he doesn't have enough people to cover full election
PG: says there is an opportunity to have results showing through the Web site, and not need a 3 hour show.
Garry Shirts: suggests small coverage of election
Ed: suggests scroll live info on elections with 3 hour loop tape
Ned: says Web site can be aired direct, but not good quality
Joe: wanted to know if Forum gets re broadcast,
DMTF to follow established policies
All Candidates have to sign off - if they don't sign, show will not get re-broadcast
Ed has forms/contracts available to be reviewed
Ed said he had one complaint from people:
Public would like to see more audience participation.
Legal women voters will sponsor debate if one is to be put together

Susan is leaving for St Louis. Gives special thanks to everyone.
'Walk in the Park' "is close to my heart and it's hard to let it go. There are two powers that have funded this project and they deserve the finest possible show. It's really important and vital to preserve the San Dieguito River Valley. Please make sure that Dick Bobertz - Joint Powers Authority, and Chris Khoury - San Dieguito River Valley Conservancy see a tape prior to release. It's an evocative piece and it must be the best ever. Phillipe is working on this"

PG is the project manager, program runs 28min.30sec
Target completion date: August 31, 2002 may need an extension
Ed to get the rough cut to setup for voice over
PG has requested a digital copy to be made of the rough cut
Susan thanks everyone again.
BOARD MEMBER REPLACEMENT:PG
3 positions available
Still have three Candidates to consider:
1. Ingrid Hoffmeister, 2. Debbe Dunning, 3. Steve Rose
1. Ingrid is interested in doing interview shows and being on the Board, she writes two columns, one for Ranch and Coast and one for Sandpiper.
Probable name "Del Mar Style" from her Ranch & Coast bye line.
Ingrid suggests that Ranch & Coast may be interested in Sponsoring this segment
2. Nicole and PG meeting with Debbe Dunning next week: Background: Debbe is a retired actress, experienced in production. Interested in Kids programs
PG: Interested in getting people involved and active on the Board from the Productions' group
Ed: suggests Steve. Steve compliments both fields, he has a great drive and is very thorough.
HBT: suggests selecting 3 today and talking to them
Nominations: Ingrid Hoffmeister was nominated for Board
All approved - PG will talk to Ingrid today
PG & Nicole to meet with Debbe Dunning next week

UPDATES: Ned
Ned - Adelphia: Bankruptcy will be proceed into December,
Adelphia was owned by the Rigas family, but with the filing of the bankruptcy, Rigas family has stepped down from Board. All revenues pledged to Adelphia.
City still getting paid franchise fee.
Dave Forshay is happy to answer any questions by the Foundation
Ned: getting involved with Producers' group
PG Web site: looking into streaming video.
Next month there will be a proposal to the Board for streaming 4-5 programs
There is money to cover this in budget
