Minutes of the DMTF Board Meeting

July 10, 2002, DMTV Studios

Attendees: Herb Turner, Nicole Holliday, Peter Glaser, Philippe Lamoise, Edward Kramer, Susan Switzer, Paula F. 
Absent: Walt Beerle, Garry Shirts, Ned Augustenborg

Time: 9am - 10am

* Approval of minutes meeting June 2002: All


Grant Status: - Peter G reviewed status of our Grants:
Nicole has a copy of the statement 
We have a total of $21,000.00 for grants to be used
Peter stated that DMTF has:
Committed $ 12,000.00 this year to community grants
$ 4,000.00 this year to non community grants
$ 5,000.00 left for individual grants
Still have $2,000.00 for Pulse - this can be moved if necessary 
Outstanding grants are - 'Del Mar Artist,' 'Circus Soliel'
Continuing grants are - ' Kids News,' ' Falcon Vision', 
Philippe's: non community projects still needs to be finished:
Villa Medicis - end of month
Leadership - finished by sept/ oct
Mex/US Peace conference - TBD

New Grant Applications: - No proposals submitted



DMTV PRODUCTIONS:

Peter:
Running low on funds
Budgeted for $5000.00 we have committed $10,000.00
These series will be finished soon - Riding with Firemen, Payasada/Horseplay Del Mar.

September 29 - Powerhouse concert/beach party - DMTV possibly to cover
Funds aside for 'Holiday in Village'

Nicole: Funds have been put aside for 'Wrightland'
Fall- plan to put together 'Historical Homes'



HBT: DMTV funded $500.00 for Newschool of Architecture tapes & Applying for grant at a later date, for last two videos.
Newschool should pick up/pay for taping/dubbing of tapes or partner with DMTV
These are valuable educational tapes

EK UCSD could be interested in these tapes - lecture type of material
Architecture school will get a copy for their library
Newschool - is an outstanding school, it's open 24 hours a day & designed for San Diego student for urban design.

AIA National - convention coming to town, it will be a big event
DMTV should cover

General Information

New audience available - Carlsbad/Oceanside, talking to Time Warner

Submitted tapes to Del Mar Fair
'Changing the Face of Aging' won 1st prize
'Del Mar Polo Match' and ''Kids News' won Honorary Mention 
Awards money goes to Producers Group

The tapes shown at Del Mar Fair will be shown on Channel 66 -
Need to get clearance from producers. 

4th of July - Non alcoholic event in Del Mar very Successful -
we hope there will be more of this.

BOARD MEMBER REPLACEMENT:

Mary Hale has left & Walter is leaving DMTF

Ideas welcome for new board members:
Peter working with Joe Sullivan to get another Banker involved, Candidate still undecided, will find out next week.
Other possible candidates 1. Gerry Finnell, 2. Steve Rose
Walt to stay on, in an advisory role


Candidates for Mary:
Nicole has suggested - 1. Debbie Dunning - dynamic
Peter 2. Ingrid Hoffmeister - 

There are two positions - get proposals and then decide

UPDATES:

Susan: Producers Group - Showcase going well

Walk in the Park - Started post production
- Music is underway, being chosen
- Rough cut to be ready end of month
- Re write of script
-Aug. 31, 2002 will have final cut

Database: We have it, we need to know how to use it for emailing

Peter: Website: Philip to update calendar on website

Fundraising -Discuss funding alternatives at September meeting
