of the DMTF Board Meeting
October 2,

President Pete Glaser called
meeting to order at 8:30 a.m.
Minutes of previous meeting
that had been e-mailed to board members by Connie Anderson were
approved.
DMTF Production Status:
Nicole Holliday will begin
production of “The History of Del Mar Through the Eyes of a Third
Grader”. Nicole informed us that this video will be entirely voiced by
third grade kids. She will keep us members agreed updated throughout
production.
Fall Fund-raising Appeal:
Jack had distributed cover
letter to be sent with donation requests and asked for feedback from
board members. All board members agreed that we keep the essence of the
letter, in that it’s friendly and direct. Ingrid suggested we tighten
up some portions and add a line about specific rewards donors would get
for their contributions. We also agreed to adjust format slightly to
bold titles and highlight goals. Jack will implement these changes in
time to send out mailing.
Del Mar Idol Contest:
Nicole informed the board
that we have extended our deadline for entries to October 20 to increase
opportunities for entrants. We also decided not to limit ourselves to
contestants living in Del Mar/ Carmel Valley zip codes. We brain stormed
about how to attract more kids as we are currently pretty low in
entries. We also discussed our desire to emphasize “friend-raising”
at our November 16th singing event and open house. The Del Mar Idol
sub-committee agreed to meet separately to continue discussion.
We adjourned until next
meeting to be held on Thursday, November 6, at 8:30 a.m. at Del Mar TV
Studio.
