Minutes of the DMTF Board Meeting

November 11, 2002, DMTV Studios

Attendees:  Peter Glaser, Nicole Holliday, Ingrid Hoffmeister, Garry Shirts, Philippe Lamoise, Joanne Price & Jack Batzler

Approval of October minutes:  All in favor

Financials

Joanne presented the financials. 

2001-2002 comparison – approved.

Pete and Joanne will work on a budget for '03.

Joanne to call Hawthorne S&L regarding cds that are due for renewal.  Will discuss recommendations regarding different investment options.

Torrey Pines High School

Pete reported that Torrey Pines might not use our studio anymore, they now have their own. 

Pete suggested we try to find another school to work with/help out.

Grant Status

New policy was agreed upon. 

Grants awarded will be honored for only one year. 

Previously, grants were available for six months, with unlimited 3-month extensions.

Producer's Showcase 

Board discussed whether or not to require structure or put limits on how many times annually a producer can produce a showcase.

Garry stated that he thought the showcase was fulfilling our goals – all agreed. 

Board is interested in talking with Steve Rose to learn more about the showcases.

  "Walk in the Park"

It was agreed that 1,000 dvds would be purchased with money from the original grant, in addition to money from the JPA and Conservancy. 

Philippe will be responsible for marketing, selling and storing the left over dvds.

Fundraising

Valentine’s Video

Pete will speak with Tracy and Edward about producing a pilot for a Valentine’s video. 

Idea is for citizens to come down to the station and make a video.  For $50 they receive a video - with option for video to stream on DMTV web site. 

Legacy Project

Ingrid is going to talk to her creative writing class to see if there are any interested volunteers to make a pilot for the Legacy Program.  All board members are to submit questions to assist Ingrid with the pilot.

The board also discussed hosting a movie night at the station where the director would come and lecture about the film, i.e. Tom Hall and “The Full Monty”.  Garry suggested an end of the year party.  Fund raising discussion to continue.
